The story dates back to 2017, when Venice was surprised by allowing the Italian artist Lorenzo Quinn and supporting his idea to place the installation. Which represents two hands protruding from the muddy water of the Grand Canal to support the Ca’d’Oro building. His main message lies in the changing climate and the consequences that affect not only Venice, but the world as a whole.
Strong work with great visual impact, was a huge success, many times captured and widely spread in social networks around the world.
In 2019, Lorenzo returns to Venice with a new gigantic installation, consisting of 6 pairs of hands, which start from two embankments, intertwine and form a bridge. The work is a height of 15 meters and a length of 20 meters, a pair of hands - six universal values of a person. The choice of the city and place is not accidental for the artist. Venice is a world heritage city and a city of bridges. The ideal place to spread the idea of unity and world peace, transmitting and characterizing people to build bridges with others, rather than fencing off walls and barriers from each other.
The six universal values of a person are friendship, wisdom, help, faith, hope and love, which together is a message of peace and community that contribute to meeting cultures and overcoming differences.
The stylistic feature of the artist is in the presentation of hands. It is with our own hands that we do everything: both good and evil, we give pleasure and suffering, we caress our children and resist our enemies. Hands are a fundamental tool for the artist, because they allow you to work and create something that you can look at, which can be built both for society and for the individual.
Through the hands of the artist creates art, which is visible to all and is the true heritage of the world, without pretense, borders and restrictions.
