Found a new painting by Titian

Initially, it was believed that the painting, which is part of Wellington's collection in London, belonged to a minor minor artist from Northern Italy.
During the restoration work, the work is supposedly attributed to the workshop of Titian and may have been partially painted by the master himself.
Since 1901, the 16th-century painting “Orpheus charming animals” was considered the work of the artist Alessandro Varotari, known as Padovanino, since he was born in Padua. This picture was among those that the 1st Duke brought to London in 1813 after the battle of Vitoria on the server of Spain.
During restoration work, on the reverse side of the original canvas was discovered Spanish inventory number, which dates from 1601. This year, the artist Varotari was 13 years old, because he could not be the artist of this particular painting.
Josephine Oxley, curator of Wellington's collection, studied the recently refined work and came to the conclusion that the body of the Greek hero Orpheus and his red drapery are of high quality. “It seems that the painting came from the studio of Titian, and finer details may have been made by the master,” she says, dating the work to the 1560s.
Alice Tate-Hart, who has preserved the painting, agrees, saying that Titian may have been responsible for "some of the tinting or added finishing touches."
Three leading experts from Titian were invited to test the "Orpheus charming animals" in the conservation studio, but everyone had different views on attribution. Now the picture is back at the exhibition, I hope other experts will see the work and consensus will be reached. A full report on the painting should appear next year in the monograph of Titian from the Italian conservation publisher Kermes.
