The world without glasses Philip Barlow

21.11.2017

Today we introduce you to the works of Philip Barlow - a modern artist who paints oil in the style of traditional painting.
Barlow was born in South Africa, graduated as a graphic designer at Nelson Mandela Metropolitan University, then lived in Europe. While Barlow tried himself in painting, his portfolio collected about five hundred portraits, painted with pastels and charcoal, eight frescoes and about two hundred watercolor paintings and paintings written with a pen and ink.

And only since 2002 the artist begins to create in his unique manner. The paintings of Barlow are more like defocused photographs, with the only difference being that they are all written in oil on canvas.

Looking at Barlow's work, we understand the world in which people with poor eyesight live, and that this world is beautiful in its own way. "If we do not see something, this does not mean that it is not." Filip's work leaves room for imagination, because of the blurriness of objects, the viewer is forced to "turn on" the imagination and try to look at the world differently.

The paintings of Philip Barlow are presented in many museums and private collections.
