The artist and graphic designer Julia Brodskaya more than six years ago began her experiments with various illustrations using paper. Since then, Julia has become a master of quilling and other sculptural techniques, including paper. Now more and more projects are devoted to the theme of the beauty of human aging. Its customers are fashion designer Issey Miyake, Godiva candies, and Paramount film studio.

Mixing geometric and organic forms through paper quilling continues to create elegant paper portraits. After all, paper is a wonderful material for creating wrinkles.
At one time, Brodskaya often returned to the study of aging of elderly people, partly inspired by the fear of their own mortality, as well as an attempt to portray aging people with dignity, in bright colors or by showing their interests.
Julia creates three-dimensional portraits, tamed the usual paper in her hands. Her work reflects the beauty of aging, filled with a palette of colors, which are the central element of her work.

Earlier, Brodskaya called her works –quilled drawings as drawings, but over time, the more expression appears in her works, the stronger her approach becomes pictorial. Portraits, which creates the artist are becoming more like oil and acrylic painting, but with the effect of textured paper. By mixing strips of paper, like paints on a palette, the artist achieves a painterly effect, where the paper makes it possible to enhance the effect through tactile sensations.

Over the past few years, Casting has received orders to create dozens of corporate clients from Starbuck to the New York Times.

Now Julia Brodskaya works and lives in the UK.
