Today we introduce you to Svetlana Safonova, an artist. Lives and works in Moscow.
Do you know what the most common answer to the question is: why did you start painting? It turns out that everything starts with Christmas gifts, for most self-taught artists this is the starting point for the waves of painting and art.

From when and when did you start painting?
"Three years ago, on New Year's Eve I was presented with a master class in oil painting, it was from this master class that all began."

What do you feel when you take the brush in your hand?
"That I can create something of my own, not like anything."

Where are you looking for inspiration, and how does it come to you?
“Just a minor detail, sometimes a photo, some kind of watched movie. Anything, absolutely everything can suggest an idea. ”

What do you feel when you paint?
“I always paint in oils. Perhaps because the first thing I studied was a master class in oil painting. Oil is always alive, unlike acrylic. When I draw, it is like a process of renouncing everything. You seem to be here and now, and at the same time you are far away. It is always a process of immersion, only you and your picture exist. ”

What else do you want to achieve?
"I want to develop in this direction, to fill my hand, to study various techniques."

What do you feel when work is finished and is it numb?
“It’s hard to say, I guess I’m glad I could convey what I wanted. When you put a full stop, sometimes it seems that it is too early and the work is not fully developed, but I still put a full stop. ”

What do you like to draw the most?

"The most favorite thing for me is to paint landscapes, some kind of warmth and incredible pleasure comes when you are in a hurry, have time to catch a moment of nature."
