The first meeting of Mary with art took place at the age of 4, when her parents took the studio to the Fine Arts. It is very difficult to understand at that age what you like and what does not. And very often the children make their decisions intuitively, and this is what happened this time, the future artist liked the smell of gouache. But fate could dispose of completely different. But what happened happened.
The paintings of Maria Kupko are very unusual, it is not immediately possible to consider this or that composition, but it is this fact that makes the paintings unique in their technique, perception of the world and feelings.
Inspired by nature, simply the natural course of life and human nature has been able to achieve success. After graduating from Grodno University. Yanki Kupala participated in many national exhibitions of Belarus.
The main teachers for Maria were artists - Van Gogh, Pollock, Mark Rothko, Caravaggio, Durer, Kuinji.

What do you feel when you take a brush in your hand?
“At first, confusion, then enthusiasm, then I just don’t stop, not hearing anything around - I create. Then again the fear that everything was over. Then a keen sense of hunger. But this happens at every stage while I am writing, ”responds Maria.
What else do you want to achieve in painting, perhaps, to try new materials or tools?
“To touch other people's souls, to hurt thoughts, to cause a reaction. Someday I will be engaged in etching, ”replies Maria Kupko.
What is painting for you?
“Painting is a language of color and form, and feeling,” the artist tells.
The main materials in the creation of paintings for the artist have become - oil, watercolor, ink-pen. It is these materials that have become obedient in the hands of Mary, with which you can convey the texture of light, color, impressions and sensations.
A whole series of works, created, inspired by many works of well-known and little-known artists, allowed Mary to create her own style, which became recognizable and distinguishable from other patterned perceptions of classical painting.
