Dutch street artists Jan Is Man and Deff Feed decided to change the look of their town Utrecht by drawing a huge three-level literary bookcase on the facade of the apartment building. This bookcase is filled with a selection of favorite books of artists from its own collection. But not everything is so simple on this bookshelf, the artists decided to entertain the audience a little and added made-up books under their own names. The "bookshelf" of street artists is not their only work. There is a second one, which is created on the side of a garage belonging to the central branch of the city public library in Kansas City.
This garage facade is one of the most striking features of the city center. The garage looks like a series of books lined up on a shelf. The garage itself was built in 2006 to increase the number of parking places in the city center. But the authorities simply did not want to leave the garage as a garage for the appearance of the whole city, and its central part.
Patrons and the library community as well as the authorities turned to the artists for the opportunity to create and for the most part strengthen the value of the public library in the city. So there was a bookshelf. Moreover, the name of the books were strictly selected on the ballot, which will be shown for general display.
Artists create their works not only on canvas and paper, they primarily create them for the audience, and the media does not matter at all.
