And again we return to the technique of hyperrealism. There have been so many disputes on this topic, and it is impossible to argue with each other. Everyone is right in their own way. Some argue what is the point in such a detailed drawing, if there is a camera, others, on the contrary, try to recreate such photographic work with an artist’s painstaking effort. Each of them is right.
Of course, such work must be considered live, not a single camera or computer will transmit the technique and the palette of the picture, they will all be very similar to the photographs.
Photorealism originated in 60gg. last century in america. In photorealism, changes and movements are frozen in time and meticulously traced by the artist.
One of the brightest representatives of hyperrealism is the American-Israeli artist Yigal Ozeri.
He began his creative life as an abstract artist in Israel, when there were no worthy books on the arts of painting. And those that were, always with black and white pictures. There was nothing in them. Having visited the Prado museums in Madrid, Yigal decides to study hyperrealism and immerse himself in photo-photorelism.
For the past 20 years, Igal Ozeri has been living and working in New York. His work can be attributed to the landmark in the development of hyper-realism in the history of art. To achieve such a subtle accuracy is subject to far from everyone. Even when you look at his work in the gallery you can hardly find the artist’s brush strokes, as his technique is close to photo printing.
By drawing exclusively female images, the artist tries to comprehend the inner world of his heroines, to grasp their thinnest line between youth and maturity.
His paintings are a hymn to beauty!
- The creative process is phased, it all starts with a model, then I take photos and video material, which forms the basis for future pictures. Then I carefully select the frames on the computer that I project onto the wall, thus determining the size of the canvas and, based on the projection, I start working with oil with the largest brush. I start with an abstract drawing, it makes up 60-70% of the picture, the next stage is carefully drawn details, with brushes getting thinner and thinner.
Drawings Yigal - this is life on canvas, it is always accurate, complex and technological, at the same time free with a full set of music sounds and smells.
- The theme of female beauty has a thousand-year history. I consider Russian women the most beautiful women in the world. I haven’t painted men yet, but maybe for the exhibition that I plan to hold in Russia, I’ll draw Danila and Olya together - they are a very effective couple, in my opinion.
Romance and freedom are two “elephants” who oppose the world of violence, anger, disrespect, rudeness and ignorance.
His works are presented in many galleries and museums of the world.
Now we have met this great contemporary hyperrealist artist.
