The process of finding color and harmony

Today we meet with an interesting artist Ksenia Vakhrusheva. Her work is presented on our website.
Ksenia Vakhrusheva (born on October 7, 1986) - was born, grew up, and still lives in the city of Yekaterinburg (Sverdlovsk). Her path to painting was “abnormal” in the conventional sense, before becoming an artist received an education in marketing and management, passed the international certification for project management.
Her family did not have professional artists who could pass on their knowledge and experience (father is a builder, mother is a designer), but there was always support for any creative endeavors. As a child, she did a lot of handicrafts: she wove on bobbins, sewed clothes for herself and for dolls, made flowers from fabric and leather, and in general easily and happily enjoyed something new.

“I always loved to draw, I remember how at school the“ good ”half of the boys from the class returned the drawing, although it was not uncommon for the teacher to guess that it was my doing,” says Xenia.
But life goes on. After the institute - work, travel, meetings and partings, the search for new emotions and impressions, including a parachute jump, walking on burning coals, standing on nails, rafting on the river, riding ostriches, etc. Then, good work, new countries, close people - everything is there and something is missing, such thoughts were until Xenia started writing. Started herself, buttered. And I was fascinated by what condition this process gives - the process of searching for color, shape, harmony. Stop no longer wanted.

“After returning from a fairly long vacation from Europe, where there was time to reflect on what I want, I began to look for a mentor - a professional artist. I knew exactly how it should be - only individually, without looking at other students, without comparison and evaluation. I can say that surprisingly quickly I found a person who is not only a professional artist, a master with vast experience, but a real teacher who is able to patiently explain, correctly point out flaws, bring to the result, without imposing his writing style ”- continues Ksenia Vakhrusheva .

Ksenia started from the beginning, from theory, and then many, many hours of practice. I also got acquainted with pencil technique, coal, pastel, sanguine, sepia, acrylic. Within a few months I began to prepare for the first exhibition.
“It was both easy and difficult at the same time. It is easy to do what you like, taking paint every time, wondering what it can do. It is easy, when friends and relatives support, it is easy, when you see how the picture is viewed with admiration, when eminent artists appreciate it. It is difficult to take the first step, the first time to call yourself an artist, to defend your right to work at any age, to learn when you can teach yourself, when your work is “not format”, but it's all the little things when you know for what! ”- says the artist .

“Now, not even constructive criticism as a glass of lemon juice - from the beginning, I want to wrinkle with this acid, but how useful and how invigorating!” - smiling, Ksenia Vakhrusheva tells.
At the moment, the artist's works are in private collections in Russia and Germany. She plans to open her own workshop - a gallery, a place where you can work and contemplate!
