Magical watercolor

Our guest today is Australian watercolor painter Joseph Zbukvich. He is often called “recognized genius”, “lead master”, “luminary of watercolor” and simply “a real wizard”. The artist himself prefers "Mr. Z" only because not many can pronounce his last name.
For him, watercolor is not just a matter of his life, and a real passion in his 40 years.
The first steps in working with watercolor Joseph began to do, while studying at the University of Melbourne. His love affair with watercolor continues now, because watercolor cannot be really taught, always self-willed and stubborn. Like riding a wild horse, you think that you managed to ride it, but it is always ready to break loose and rush off at any moment.
Studying industrial design at the university allowed the artist to create his own personal suitcase with the letter “Z”. The uniqueness of this sketchbook is that there are sections for paper in it, it is specially designed for working with watercolor.
Soft lines and light strokes lend special expressiveness to Joseph's work.
He believes that the artist’s task is not only to draw the picture correctly from a technical point of view, but to transfer the viewer to the plot of the work itself, where the viewer becomes part of the plot in order to feel the mood of the picture. Where the artist tells the story, and does not copy the image.
