A game of shadows

The famous Belgian illustrator and filmmaker Vincent Bal changed his view of the creative world with his sketches.

Illustrator and film director - hereditary storyteller, his mother is the founder of the famous children's theater in Belgium. The boundary between reality and fantasy is very vague, so the author thinks, taking pictures of children's cinema about adulthood. Some works are dubbed into Russian. Now our story is not about that.

Today we talk about his passion for illustration. Its author draws inspiration in the simplest and most ordinary things. Which surround us every day. Its direction is called "shadowology" - this is when you place an object on a piece of paper, highlight it and use the shadow as a plot of the picture. The artist himself says that yes, of course to do scripts or directing is exciting and interesting, but it's always a very long process. Here half an hour and the drawing is ready, having laid it on Facebook, the whole world sees it. Now Vincent adheres to the rule, publishes one figure a day. The fascinating world of shadows, objects, his savvy, light irony is everything that includes his illustrations.
