Cal Gajim is a Libyan artist, born in Tripoli in 1968. Was an official artist of the XXI Olympic Games in 2010 in Vancouver.
Some accuse him of diversity, others - admire his own recognizable style. It is unequivocal that his work will not leave people indifferent.
The first steps in creativity, the artist made at the age of ten, participating in the first art contest. Later, a friend of the family, who was a teacher of fine art at the school of Leonardo D'Vinci in Rome, noticing the boy, introduced him to the methods of painting palette knife.
His first exhibition was organized in Tripoli in 1983, soon, Cal moved to Paris, where he mastered watercolor and the Parisian style of painting.
During his life the artist often changed his place of residence. Starting with private lessons in Paris, where he lived for two years, then 7 years worked as a professional artist and restorer in Malta in the Royal Gallery of Art. It was there that he developed his recognizable style. After Malta, the artist's life was thrown into Tunisia, then to England. During this period of his life, he creates a series of four watercolor prints of the city, published in a very short order. But, this fact allowed him to send the money to charity.
In 2003, Cal Gajim immigrated to Canada, where he still lives. Basically, the artist writes urban landscapes, filled with expression and hot temperament, as well as still lifes with oil with a palette knife.
