Thirty years ago, the work of hyperrealists was presented at the Hermitage, which caused a stunning success for the audience. Many enthusiastically argued that this is exactly what art should be. Perhaps, in part, for understanding such works, one does not have to be an art critic or understand deeply in painting.

Recall that in those years, neither that no one knew what photoshop or digital photography is. Some experts believe that hyperrealism is not art at all, only the share of contemporary art in the aspect of alternativeness.

All skeptics are invited to look at the works of Alyssa Monks, which are permeated with hyperrealistic motives and presented in the narrative genre. Favorite theme of the artist - a girl in the bath or in the shower. Where the viewer looks through the drops of water on the depicted person who carries away into the world of purity, a sense of defenselessness or even apathy. Therefore, the choice of the artist - very explainable, only being in the bathroom or bedroom - we denude not only the body, but the soul.

A special feature of Alyssa Monks's work is that she intentionally avoids ideal proportions, believing that there is no point in portraying unattainable ideality.
In the work, both alienation and empathy are felt simultaneously, representing a short period of time and a limited space. The heroes of the paintings are people sleeping, dressing, washing in the shower, naked. In many paintings, the artist depicts himself. The images are sensual, lively and frank.

Alyssa is in the constant search for organic between the two aspects in the paintings, creating new forms of interaction, so the water is wet, and the shell is old. In the painted chest beats heart. Being in search of a border between a living person and non-living objects, her details are accurate and alive.
The artist's works are recognized all over the world, who are willingly exhibited in galleries and museums.
