Georgian artist Lado Tevdoradze was born in 1957, in Georgia. In 1985 he graduated from the Toidze Academy of Arts.

Very often in his works Lado portrays himself and his friends, always refusing to carry out work on the order, so as not to try to even please everyone. He does not like the artificiality in the paintings.

“The main thing is to have light in every picture,” he says. “To have the sun. It’s important that there are exhibitions for people to see. My riches are for you to enjoy. I think this is very expensive,” says Lado.

In addition to his painting Lado is engaged in painting churches. Thus, the Church of St. Nicholas in Narikalafortess is completely painted by the artist and his friend David Khidashveli.

Delighted with the works of the Impressionists, the paintings of Van Gogh, however, after other Georgian artists, he classifies his style as “academic primitivism.”

"Primitivism is like Pirosmani’s,” explains Zviad Gogolauri’s colleague at the art workshop, “and academic, because we all finished the academy.”
