Today we tell you about the artist Maria Korkina, whose works are represented on our website. Maria drew from childhood, because her father was engaged in the restoration of icons. An economist by training, Maria did not study painting at the university, but was engaged in a studio by an artist.
Having received additional education in the Academic School of Design in Moscow, Maria goes into painting.
Maria's works are diverse: she paints portraits, still-lifes, and abstractions.
"I prefer free painting, impressionism, abstraction, Dutch techniques, glazes. I painted icons, "the artist says about himself.
The artist has his own style. Maria's work is to be solved, they are philosophical.
For example, "Shadows" are fascinated by a strange female pose that echoes with the tree trunk. Contrasting colors create a contradictory mood, and it's hard for us to take our eyes off her.

In the "Red Chair" Korkina there is something from the Gauguin Flowers and Suprematism of Malevich. The work is bright and dynamic.

«Вторая половина» наполовину абстрактна. Но, глядя на неё, не возникает ощущения раздвоенности или недосказанности. Напротив, она выглядит законченной и цельной.

Maria Korkina participated in the exhibition Art Project 9 in the Central House of Artists in 2015, and in various exhibitions as part of the Night of Museums and the Night of the Arts project in Moscow.
Currently, Maria lives and works in London, from time to time comes to Moscow.
