Josef Lada - one of the most famous illustrators, artists, screenwriters, not only in the Czech Republic, but all over the world. His most famous drawing heroes are the soldier Švejk and the cat Mikesh.

The occasional absurdity at the age of two led to blindness in one eye, but the dreams of becoming an artist never left him. Lada often refers to the Christmas theme, some of his most famous drawings are "Christ was born" (1931), "Animals at the Crest's Crèches" (1931), "He was Born" (1926), "Three Czars" (1951) .), "Saint Mikulash, the Angel and the Devil" (1940).
Josef Lada very often pictured the life of an old village, where he spent his happiest 15 years. One of the achievements of Lada was that in 1911 she published the alphabet for children - "My Alphabet", which for a decade was the beginning in the study of literacy.
Thanks to Josef Lada Svejk soldiers are recognized by millions around the world. The artist has made more than 500 different illustrations to the book and its cover. His canonical image was created after Hasek's measurement.
Lada was one of the founders of the modern Czech fairy tale. His pen belongs to - "Naughty Tales", a collection of fairy tales almost reminiscent of classical, only "vice versa."
